Fastcomcorp and Makerlab Forge a Partnership to Create The Internet of Things

Mobile, Alabama and Merida, Yucatan (August 11, 2014) – Fastcomcorp and Makerlab announced a partnership to transform the home and office automation market.


This partnership aims to develop the platform that will connect all of our appliances, lighting, sensors, security systems, and manage everything else with one system in a p2p mesh network. The Aquila open source platform is readily available on github and developer kits can be purchased from Makerlab for $113.23.

Fastcomcorp and Makerlab shared vision for this partnership is to put this technology in the hands of everyone. They are cutting the red tape on the limitations of the Zigbee and Z-wave platforms. Makerlab is taking the lead on the development of the Aquila protocols and functionalities. Fastcomcorp has begun work on integrating Aquila into its universal platform codenamed Alexander.
